Get a commercial carrier permit

There are 2 types of commercial carrier permits: regular permits and special permits.

Regular permits

• These are issued at the Whitehorse or the Watson Lake weigh station.
• You have to pay a fee, which may be different depending on the permit.
• You can pay for your permit with Visa, MasterCard, American Express or cash.
• Your permit must be paid for when it's issued.

Special permits

• There is no fee for these permits.
• Read further about these under Highways Act Regulations, section 23(3).

How to get a special permit

1. Complete the non-TAC configuration permit form.
2. Submit your form at either the Whitehorse or the Watson Lake weigh station.
