There are 2 types of commercial carrier permits: regular permits and special permits.
Regular permits
- These are issued at the Whitehorse or the Watson Lake weigh station.
- You have to pay a fee, which may be different depending on the permit.
- You can pay for your permit with Visa, MasterCard, American Express or cash.
- Your permit must be paid for when it's issued.
Special permits
- There is no fee for these permits.
- Read further about these under Highways Act Regulations, section 23(3).
How to get a special permit
- Complete the non-TAC configuration permit form.
- Submit your form at either the Whitehorse or the Watson Lake weigh station.
