This rebate is for homes with an existing electric primary heating system to install a new, non-electric primary heating system. You do not need to uninstall the existing electric heating system.
Rebate amount
- 50 per cent of eligible costs up to $15,000 for existing homes
- $15,000 for new homes

- $3,000 for new homes
Eligibility
You must:

- be planning to install a secondary oil, propane or wood-fired heating system.

If you have an existing electric heating system, you can apply for a rebate to install both:
- an energy efficient heat pump; and
- a non-electric heating backup system.

- 50 per cent of eligible costs up to $15,000 for existing homes

Eligibility
You must:

This rebate supports the construction of energy efficient homes that exceed the National Building Code’s (NBC) minimum energy efficiency requirements. It helps homeowners and builders invest in energy efficiency from the design stage.
Rebate amount
- $12,500 for tier 5 homes
- $2,000 for tier 4 homes
Check the National Building Code to learn more about tier 4 and 5 requirements. Multi-unit residential buildings with a shared access may be eligible for an increased rebate.
Eligibility
Homes must:
- be built in the Yukon in the last 12 months;
- meet NBC tier 4 or 5 energy efficiency requirements; and
- receive a post-construction energy assessment within 6 months of occupancy.

Your transfer switch must be:
- code compliant; and
- installed in a Yukon home or building.
