Apply for a rebate for your drain-water heat-recovery system

We provide a rebate on systems that use the heat from drain water to preheat water going into your hot water tank.

Eligibility

Drain-water heat-recovery systems must be listed with Natural Resources Canada and installed in a building that is at least 5 years old.

Rebate amount

$150 per system.

You may receive a maximum of two rebates per building.

Apply for your rebates

You can apply online or use the application form to apply by mail or in person. You must provide:

• invoices or receipts and proof of payment;
• proof that the drain-water heat recovery system is listed by Natural Resources Canada; and
• a final approved inspection report.

You'll receive a rebate by cheque or e-transfer (Sign up for direct deposit payments) within 12 weeks.
