The Whitehorse Walk-In Clinic is a health care facility that provides access to same-day, non-urgent care for all Yukon residents, with or without a family doctor. It can support you:

  • with minor health concerns that do not require long-term follow-up; or
  • as an alternative to visiting the Emergency Department for issues that do not require emergency care.

Our team includes:

  • doctors;
  • nurse practitioners;
  • licensed practical nurses;
  • pharmacists;
  • social workers; and
  • office staff.

Hours of operation

Monday to Friday: 9 am to 5:30 pm (closed on statutory holidays)

Walk-in clinic services

We offer support for the following conditions, sickness and small injuries:

  • Fever
  • Respiratory, oral, or sinus infections
  • Skin conditions, including rashes
  • Gastrointestinal symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and abdominal pain
  • Minor cuts
  • Minor allergic reactions
  • Painful or bloody urination
  • Minor burns
  • Musculoskeletal conditions or injuries, such as sprains or strains

We offer the following simple medical procedures:

  • Pap smears
  • Wound care
  • Eye washes
  • Ear irrigation
  • Skin checks
  • Stitch removal

Are you eligible?

The walk-in clinic offers care to Yukoners covered by the Yukon Health Care Insurance Plan. The clinic serves patients with Canadian health care coverage and a provincial or territorial health card.

To have insurance under the Yukon Health Care Insurance Plan, you must:

  • be a Canadian citizen or have the necessary immigration status;
  • make the Yukon your permanent home;
  • be present in the Yukon for the majority of the year, or have a waiver from Insured Health Services if you're absent for more than 6 months.

New residents

If you're new to the Yukon, you're eligible for Insured Health Services once you've been a resident for 3 months. Get more information or sign up for the Yukon Health Care Insurance Plan.

Uninsured patients

If you’re uninsured, the walk-in clinic can only check injuries for Workers' Compensation Board claims. Eligible Yukoners can sign up for the Yukon Health Care Insurance Plan.
