Replace a lost or stolen driver's licence

If you have lost your driver's licence, notify the police. You can also apply for a temporary licence.

Apply for a temporary licence

1. Download and complete the application for a temporary licence form and bring it to a Motor Vehicles Services office. 
   You can also pick up the form at the office
2. Pay the $15 replacement fee by cash, credit card or debit.

After you apply

Our staff will issue you a temporary driver's licence. Use this until your new licence arrives in the mail. The expiry date will be the same as it was on your original licence.

Your new driver's licence will be printed within 3 business days. Canada Post will mail it to you within 4 to 10 days. You should allow up to 4 weeks for delivery.
