Get testing and treatment for an infectious disease

Yukon Communicable Disease Control (YCDC) works in collaboration with the:

  • Chief Medical Officer of Health; and
  • the Public Health Agency of Canada.

We're responsible for preventing, monitoring and controlling all communicable diseases in the Yukon. This includes infectious diseases, such as:

  • syphilis;
  • hepatitis;
  • chlamydia and gonorrhea;
  • measles;
  • pertussis (whooping cough);
  • giardiasis; and
  • tuberculosis (TB)

Infectious disease reporting

Several diseases, such as TB and measles as well as rare diseases such as botulism, anthrax and diphtheria, must be reported to Yukon Communicable Disease Control  and the Chief Medical Officer of Health as soon as possible. See the full list here.
