You can renew your vehicle registration online or at a Motor Vehicles office.
Renew online
You can renew your vehicle registration for as many vehicles as needed in 1 online submission.
Once you’ve completed the vehicle registration renewal process, you can print your registration certificate at home.
You no longer need licence plate stickers, so your registration renewal takes effect right away.
Before you start
Before you start the online renewal process, make sure you have your:
- registration renewal notice containing your one-time online access code;
- current insurance policy information; and
- credit card to pay the renewal fee.
Renew a vehicle registration
Renew in person
We encourage you to access our online services whenever possible.
Visit a Motor Vehicles office to renew in person. Make sure to bring your:
- current vehicle registration or registration renewal notice;
- current insurance policy information; and
- debit or credit card, cash or cheque for payment.
Parking and speeding tickets
You cannot renew your vehicle registration if you have outstanding parking tickets that total $100 or more. This includes:
- City of Whitehorse parking tickets; and
- summary conviction tickets, such as speeding tickets.
Once you've paid off the tickets, you'll be able to renew your vehicle registration.
