Biography
Currie Dixon was elected as the Yukon’s 12th Premier on November 3, 2025. He is the first Premier born in the Yukon.
Premier Dixon attended St. Francis Xavier University, where he received an honours degree in Political Science and History. He attended graduate school at the University of Northern British Columbia, where he earned a Master of Arts in Political Science, focusing on First Nations governance and economic development.
In 2011, he was elected to the Yukon Legislative Assembly for Copperbelt North. From 2011 to 2016, he served in Cabinet with various portfolios, including as the Minister of Environment, Economic Development, Community Services and the Public Service Commission.
He chose not to run in the 2016 election in order to pursue work opportunities outside of politics.
Premier Dixon was chosen as leader of the Yukon Party on May 23, 2020. He was returned to the Yukon Legislative Assembly as the Member for Copperbelt North in the 2021 election and served as Leader of the Official Opposition until he was elected Premier.
