The Yukon Community Program pilot concluded as planned on June 30, 2025, following the completion of the agreement between the Government of Yukon and the Government of Canada. The Yukon government launched this initiative in 2020 as a three-year pilot program, which was extended for an additional two years in 2023.
The Yukon Community Program was introduced as a time-limited pilot to test an alternative approach to supporting employers and addressing labour shortages. Unlike the standard nomination process, the Yukon Community Program pilot allowed candidates to combine up to three part-time jobs to reach the full-time hours needed to qualify for the Yukon Nominee Program.
Employers and candidates can continue to access the Yukon Nominee Program streams that remain in place:
- the Yukon Business Nominee Program
- Critical Impact Worker
- Skilled Worker
- Express Entry streams
These streams remain available through the Government of Yukon’s invitational process, which prioritizes applications that align with the 2025 priorities. These priorities were identified through ongoing conversation with industry organizations and feedback from the Yukon business community.
The Government of Yukon is now working with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to assess the success of the pilot and to determine next steps and opportunities to continue supporting the needs of employers in the Yukon moving forward.
