Access adoption records

There are many reasons to apply for access to Yukon adoption records.

  • Many adopted people want to know about their biological origins and cultural heritage.
  • Birth parents may also want information about the health and well-being of their children who were adopted.
  • Sometimes, adopted people and birth parents want to meet.

Applying for your adoption records

You can apply to receive Yukon adoption records if you're:

  • an adoptee over the age of 19; or
  • a birth parent whose child is over the age of 19.
