Access mental health supports for the Yukon Fire Service

Wounded Warriors Canada

The Yukon Fire Marshal's Office has partnered with Wounded Warriors Canada to provide free mental health training and counselling for:

  • members of the Yukon Fire Service; and
  • their families.

Wounded Warriors Canada is a national mental health service provider. They support people and families in trauma-exposed jobs and organizations. Their services help people:

  • build resilience; and
  • recover from post-traumatic injuries.

Services available

Through this partnership, you can access:

  • workplace training; and
  • counselling.

Programs and training include the following:

  • Trauma Resiliency Training
  • Peer Support Fundamentals Training
  • Strength Warrior
  • Trauma Resiliency Program
  • Spousal Resiliency Program
  • Couples Overcoming PTSD Everyday
  • Warrior Kids Camp and Virtual Programs
  • Surviving Family Program
  • PTSD Service Dogs and Operational Stress Intervention Dogs

Who's eligible

  • Current and former member of the Yukon Fire Service from:
    • the Fire Marshal's Office; and
    • municipal fire halls.
  • Volunteer firefighters in the Yukon
  • Professional firefighters in the Yukon (not including wildland firefighters)
  • Members of Scene Safety Response Units
  • Families of anyone listed above
