Flood maps show where water may reach during a flood. They’re an important tool to help us understand the risks of flooding, prepare and reduce the impacts.
Flood maps identify hazards and help with:
- land use planning;
- flood preparedness and mitigation;
- emergency management; and
- public awareness of flood risk.
Flood mapping is underway for 14 flood-prone Yukon communities.
