Weight restrictions for most Yukon roads are on 511Yukon.ca. To view these in the map:

  • turn on the weight restrictions and bridge restrictions layers in the legend; or
  • access truck restrictions via the text report link in the top menu.

As of noon on April 18, 2026, the following roads are restricted to 100% of legal loading – meaning no overloading will be allowed.

  • Alaska Highway, BC border to Alaska border (near Beaver Creek);
  • Klondike Highway, Fraser to Carmacks;
  • Campbell Highway, Watson Lake to Tuchitua (kilometre 114);
  • Campbell Highway, Ross River Junction to Carmacks;
  • Haines Road;
  • Atlin Road; 
  • Stewart/Cassiar; and
  • Silver Trail.

The following roads are restricted to 75% of legal loading:

  • Tagish Road;
  • The Dempster Highway;
  • Klondike Highway, Carmacks to Dawson;
  • Campbell Highway, Tuchitua (kilometre 114) to Ross River Junction;
  • Mitchell Road; and
  • Nahanni Range Road.

As of April 18, 2026, the following roads not found on 511Yukon are restricted to 75% of legal loading.

  • Secondary roads connected to:
    • Alaska Highway south of Whitehorse to the Alaska border (near Beaver Creek);
    • Dempster Highway;
    • Klondike Highway south of Carcross to Dawson;
    • Campbell Highway south of Tuchitua to Carmacks,
    • Nahanni Range Road;
    • Silver Trail;
    • Mitchell Road;
    • Atlin Road;
    • Tagish Road; and
    • Takhini Hot Springs Road.

Get alert notifications

You can get email or SMS notifications of road conditions with a 511 Yukon account. You can receive notifications on:

  • road conditions;
  • incidents;
  • construction;
  • road closures;
  • special events; and
  • truck restrictions.

How to set up alert notifications

  1. Visit 511yukon.ca.
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. Select “My 511”, then “My Routes & Notifications” from the dropdown menu.
  4. Select the kind of notification you want to receive: My Area or My Alert notifications.
    1. My Area notifications are customizable notifications for an area of the Yukon of your choosing.
    2. My Alert notifications are notifications for the whole territory on all 511 Yukon alerts.
  5. Follow the instructions on screen to set up your notification.
