Renew a psychologist certificate

All psychologists in the Yukon must:

  • register;
  • hold a Yukon certificate; and
  • renew their certificate every year.

You can renew the following certificate types:

  • full; and
  • inactive.

Each certificate type includes information on:

  • eligibility;
  • continuing competency requirements;
  • the documentation you will need to provide; and
  • fees.

We recommend you review this information before you apply to renew your certificate.

The renewal period begins on November 1 of every year. Submit your completed renewal application including all certificates of standing by December 31. This ensures that we can process your certificate before it expires on January 31.

To comply with Yukon regulations, psychologists must renew their certificate before the start of the new licence year. Practising without a valid certificate after January 31 is not permitted.

Certificate reinstatements

If your certificate has not been renewed by January 31, you will need to apply for reinstatement and submit the application fees.

For more information, contact our office at [email protected] or phone 867-667-5111, toll free in the Yukon 1-800-661-0408.

Applications are typically reviewed within 30 business days.  A new certificate will be issued once we have confirmed that all legal requirements have been met.

To proceed with your application, please ensure all required documentation is submitted. Incomplete applications may delay processing.

Provide the following in 1 email or in 1 envelope:

  • Completed psychologists' renewal form.
  • Completed continuing education (CE) form.
    • Include your proof of completion or attendance documents for each CE item that you submit.
  • Certificates of standing from all jurisdictions that you were licensed in as a psychologist in the past 12 months.

  • Proof of jurisprudence examination completion.
  • Proof of Yukon First Nations 101 course completion from Yukon University.
