The Museum Contribution Program (MCP) is an annual fund. It's available to 19 museums and First Nations' cultural centres in Yukon. This funding can be used to:
- hire staff and undertake programming;
- address cataloguing and registration needs;
- cover utility expenses;
- purchase supplies;
- upgrade and repair buildings and/or exhibits;
- provide administrative services; and
- undertake other activities and small projects as determined by staff and/or board of governors.
Yukon museums and cultural centres can apply for funding for specific projects. To do so, they must be on Tourism and Culture’s museums eligibility list.

The Special Projects Program (SPP) is an annual fund. It's available to 19 museums and First Nations' cultural centres in Yukon. Funding may be used for projects involving:
- exhibit planning and development;
- small (specialized) capital acquisitions and/or improvements;
- artifact inventory and cataloguing;
- small conservation projects;
- cooperative marketing ventures; or
- revenue generation enhancement projects.
Yukon museums and cultural centres can apply for funding for specific projects. To do so, they must be on Tourism and Culture’s museums eligibility list.

The Museums and Heritage Unit provides training, advice, and technical and hands-on help to heritage workers. We support the preservation and appreciation of Yukon heritage and history.
Our services include:
- administering funding programs;

- organizing training opportunities for institutions, staff and independent contractors; and
- providing report templates for finance and collections condition.
