Following the recent conclusion of the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board (YESAB) process, the Government of Yukon is moving forward with upgrades at the Pine Lake Campground beginning this fall.
The upgrades will add up to 16 new vehicle campsites, up to five walk-in tenting sites and a new group camping area. These upgrades are designed to meet growing demand, enhance park user experience and support long-term conservation of the area.
Construction will take place in two phases:
- Phase 1 (fall 2025): Rough-in work for new vehicle and tenting campsites.
- Phase 2 (spring 2026): Finishing work and installation of campsite amenities.
The new campsites are expected to be ready for use by late summer 2026.
The Pine Lake Campground will remain open during normal season dates. Work will be scheduled to minimize disruptions, with no use of machinery or equipment between 8 pm and 8 am.
Pine Lake, or Tsí Mǟn, is a special place for Yukoners and visitors alike. We’re excited to move forward with these upgrades and grateful to the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations with their support in making this happen. These improvements will help ensure Tsí Mǟn remains a place where families, friends and communities can gather and enjoy the beauty of the Yukon for generations to come.
Our government is moving ahead with upgrades to Pine Lake Campground, adding new campsites so more Yukoners and visitors can enjoy this special place for years to come. Pine Lake, also known as Tsí Mǟn or Red Ochre Lake, has long been a gathering spot in the Traditional Territory of Champagne and Aishihik First Nations. As we enhance campground facilities, we recognize Tsí Mǟn’s continued importance to the Southern Tutchone people and to all who are drawn to its beauty, history and peaceful setting. We are proud to help make sure Tsí Mǟn remains a place where community, culture and the northern landscape come together for everyone who loves the Yukon.
