Test of AlertReady emergency messaging system planned for November 19

The Government of Yukon's Emergency Measures Organization will be participating in a national test of the AlertReady system at approximately 1:55 pm local time on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. 

The test will be broadcast on cellphones, radios and televisions across the Yukon. The test alert will clearly state that it is a test. If there is a real emergency, the message will state that it is not a test. 

Users in Old Crow and other areas with only 3G wireless will not receive the alert on their cellphone. 

Regular testing of the emergency alerting system is important to ensure critical information can reach Yukoners during an emergency. 

This test also serves as an important reminder to maintain an emergency plan and an emergency kit for any family or household. Emergency preparedness is everyone’s responsibility.
