Apply to the board of Shäw Kwä’ą / Health and Wellness Yukon / Santé et Mieux-être Yukon

Please have applications submitted by June 10, 2025 for review. Applications will remain open until all seats are filled. 

The Government of Yukon and the Chiefs Committee on Health are looking for Yukoners to join the first board of Shäw Kwä’ą. This new, arm's-length health authority will deliver health and wellness services to Yukoners. Creating this authority is a key pillar of transforming healthcare in the Yukon and outlined in the Health Authority Act.

  3. Sign the Statutory Declaration to confirm you meet the eligibility requirements
  4. Submit all documents and a current resume to [email protected] by 11:59 pm on June 10, 2025

Selection process

The selection of board members will follow the process set out in the Health Authority Act, which ensures a collaborative approach between Yukon First Nations and the Government of Yukon.

A Review Committee will assess applications based on:

  • how well applicants demonstrate the desired competencies; and
  • how you represent the Yukon’s cultural, linguistic, regional and gender diversity. 

Applicants may be invited to participate in short, informal discussions. These are not formal interviews, but a chance to share more about your experiences and what you could bring to the board.

  • The Chiefs’ Committee on Health will recommend up to 3 individuals for appointment to the board.
  • The Minister of Health and Social Services will recommend up to 3 individuals and a chair.

Appointments to the board will be complete by July 31, 2025
